Prof. William Ampofo receives PEPFAR Award

The President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR/Emergency Plan) is a United States governmental initiative to address the global HIV/AIDS epidemic and help save the lives of those suffering from the disease, primarily in Africa.

To celebrate fifteen (15) years of PEPFAR globally and ten (10) years in Ghana, awards were given out on Wednesday 16th May,2018  at a reception at the residence of the US Deputy Chief of Mission.

Prof. William Ampofo  a Professor and Head of Department of Virology was presented an award for his outstanding research work on HIV/AIDS in Ghana.

The Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research (NMIMR), set up in 1979 as a semi autonomous institute of the University, is the leading biomedical research facility in Ghana.
