Members of the University community and the general public are hereby invited to the launch of the 40th Anniversary celebrations of the Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research.

The Institute will be celebrating it's Anniversary with a year-long program from November 2018 to November 2019.

The theme for the anniversary celebrations is Noguchi at 40: Sustaining Global Health Gains through Partnerships in Biomedical Research.


The launch will highlight NMIMR @ 40 and beyond, building on existing collaborations and establishing new friendships to create new partnerships for sustainable biomedical research and global health security.

The SATREPS project, Surveillance and Laboratory Support for Emerging Pathogens commenced since August 2016 in collaboration with the Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research (NMIMR), Ghana Health Service (GHS), Japan International Cooperation Agency(JICA), Japan Agency for Medical Research Development (AMED) and Japanese Institutes (National Institute of Infectious Diseases: NIID) and Universities [The University of Tokyo (UT) and Mie University(MU)].

The  Project which has a 5-year life span  will be ending in 2021.  As  part of  evaluating the project a Scientific Symposium will be held on13th November, 2018 at the Institute's conference Hall.

The Symposium aims at sharing  progress and achievements as well as researches related to the SATREPS project. This will include demonstrating  progress made in the areas of surveillance and basic science since August 2016. 

This Scientific Symposium is open to all.
